HUET with EBS: Ensuring Safety Offshore
Safety is not only a priority in the field of offshore activities; it is fundamental. Workers are immersed in a distinct environment where risks may exist in both the air and below the seas as soon as they board a helicopter headed for an offshore installation. Here is where the Emergency Breathing System (EBS) and Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET) come into play as a vital component of life safety.
Time Table: 1 day
Certification: OPITO HUET EBS
Validation: 4 years

A specific curriculum called Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET with EBS ) at IMOST academy, is provided to give offshore workers the knowledge and abilities they need to survive a helicopter ditching scenario. Participant education includes topics such as potential emergencies, underwater escape measures, and helicopter safety protocols.
In-depth, intensive, and held in a safe setting, the training goes beyond theory. Participants practice using safety equipment and escape routes from a submerged helicopter cabin through simulated helicopter ditching scenarios in a training pool. The ability to respond confidently and preparedly in real-life emergencies is something that this practical experience is crucial in imparting.
The use of Emergency Breathing System (EBS) is essential to HUET training, by giving passengers a safe way to breathe in the event of an underwater escape, this equipment acts as a crucial lifeline. EBS greatly improves survival rates by providing necessary air supply during life-threatening circumstances.
In order to
become comfortable with the EBS and make sure they can deploy it quickly and
efficiently when time is of the essence, IMOST go through lengthy practice
sessions with the system. Learners will be more equipped to handle difficult
underwater situations because of this practical experience, which improves
response times and muscle memory.
Safety regulations are critical in the offshore sector, and agencies such as OPITO are essential to maintaining these regulations. As a standard for offshore safety training, the OPITO-approved HUET with EBS certification is acknowledged around the world. To reduce hazards and guarantee the security of all passengers going to and from offshore installations, Industry mandates that workers complete HUET training with EBS certification. The industry's dedication to safety is demonstrated by this statutory obligation, which also highlights the need of HUET training in preparing employees for potential difficulties they may face offshore.
