Medical fitness for BOSIET with EBS

BOSIET with EBS training exercises may include components that are physically demanding and/or distressing. Each employee taking part in these activities needs to be able to contribute completely.

Thus, in order for learners to participate in practical exercises, OPITO-approved centres must, at the very least, guarantee that they either:

• Have a valid, current offshore medical certificate;
• Have a medical certificate equivalent to an offshore medical certificate approved by their employing company; or
• Undergo medical screening by filling out a suitable medical screening form provided by the OPITO-approved centre.

In line with their document control policy(s) or processes, the OPITO-approved Centre must maintain a copy of the learner's declaration of fitness.
