Warehouse shift leaders and supervisors
Stock, packaging and charging areas share space, and the supervisor decides whether to fight or evacuate.
Riyadh's storage and light-industry areas are large. The Special Integrated Logistics Zone beside King Khalid International Airport covers more than 32 million square feet according to the US trade authority, was launched by the General Authority for Civil Aviation on 31 October 2022, and targets packing, assembly and distribution work. Racks, pallets, packaging and temporary wiring appear in places like this, along with a mix of tenants who each manage their own buildings. The shift leader on duty is the person most likely to see the first flame.
On the legal side, a summary of the Saudi Labour Law by Clyde & Co says an employer must provide technical means to combat fire, including extinguishers and safety exits, and keep them in working condition at all times. It also says workers must be trained to use protective equipment properly. That summary names no fire-training rule, and we found no published Saudi rule that mentions this course, so we do not claim one. What is clear is that the equipment has to exist and work, which only helps if someone nearby knows how to use it.
The Civil Defense authority's public advice, reported in July 2026, points at causes that suit this course. It names damaged or poorly installed wiring, sockets overloaded beyond their rating, and the absence of automatic circuit breakers as common electrical mistakes. It also lists 911 as the emergency number in the Riyadh region and 998 elsewhere. A team that knows these causes can prevent a good share of fires, and a team that knows the number and the muster point can limit the damage of the rest.
A separate point: premises in Saudi Arabia hold a Civil Defense safety licence, which is applied for electronically through the Salamah platform. That licence concerns the building and its systems, not your staff's skills. iMost issues its own certificate, which is not a Civil Defense-approved qualification and does not make anyone a firefighter. It teaches practical first-response skills, and your own HSE team decides where those fit.

Public guidance names wiring faults, overloaded sockets and missing circuit breakers; 911 is the number for the Riyadh region.

Temporary power, fuel and hot work are daily realities on an active site, and fires start in them.
Kitchens, shared rooms and air-conditioning loads put people and ignition sources in the same building.
They look after plant rooms, risers and electrical cupboards, and know where a small fire could start.
They are on site at night and weekends, and are often the first to hear an alarm.
Vehicle and fuel-area fires call for a quick decision about whether to use an extinguisher and how to stay safe.
Basic Fire Fighting teaches the whole first response: how fires start and grow, how to prevent them, which equipment suits which fire, and how to act in an emergency. Fire Extinguisher training focuses on choosing, using and inspecting extinguishers. Fire Warden (one day, ₹15,000, valid two years) is about evacuation and headcounts. Fire Watch is a hot-work role. A Riyadh team often combines Basic Fire Fighting for supervisors with Fire Warden for the people who manage the floors. The course does not make you an industrial fire-brigade member, so sites with high hazards should ask their Civil Defense contact what else is needed.
Your main need is picking, using and inspecting extinguishers across a building or a fleet.
You are named in an evacuation plan and must account for people at the muster point.
You stand beside hot work with an extinguisher until the permit closes.
The course is classroom teaching with demonstrations, case studies and scenarios, then practical work with extinguishers and a fire blanket. Assessment is a written test, a demonstration and oral questioning, and successful delegates receive an iMost certificate. It is not an OPITO course.
The fire triangle and the hazards that feed it. In a warehouse the fuel is packaging and pallets, and on a site it is fuel, timber and temporary wiring.
The stages of a fire from incipient to decay, and classes A, B, C, D and K. It explains why a first response must happen in the opening minutes.
Preventing fires through storage, housekeeping and safe handling of flammable materials, a natural match for Civil Defense's advice on wiring and overloaded sockets.
Water, foam, CO2 and dry powder extinguishers, and the Pull, Aim, Squeeze, Sweep technique. You learn which type belongs near which hazard.
Evacuation plans, muster points and the roles people play when an alarm sounds. This is the link to your own site's plan and the emergency numbers on it.
Hands-on use of extinguishers and a demonstration of a fire blanket, in a controlled setting under instructor supervision.
Training is bought by the HSE manager or facility manager who answers for a site, and by contractors who must show a project owner a trained team. A single half-day batch can cover shift leaders from several sites at once.
| Course | Requirement note |
|---|---|
| Basic Fire Fighting Training | Often chosen for supervisors and response teams. Ask your client whether an iMost certificate is acceptable. |
| Fire Extinguisher Training | Useful for everyone who may pick up an extinguisher, including guards and drivers. |
| Fire Warden Training | For the people named in an evacuation plan. |
| Basic First Aid Training | A natural pairing, since a small fire can come with minor burns and smoke inhalation. |
Operators and clients set their own requirements; confirm with your contract or HSE department.
Direct flights connect King Khalid International Airport (RUH) with Cochin International Airport (COK) in about five and a half hours. The campus on Vypin island is about 40 km from COK by road and about 15 km from Ernakulam Junction over the Goshree bridges.
Aggregators list direct services with Saudi and Indian carriers. Timetables move with the season, so confirm with the airline.
A prepaid taxi crosses the Goshree bridges to Puthuval Road, Njarakkal. Allow about an hour.
A half-day course takes little from annual leave and can be placed on the first day of a family visit. Book flights after a batch date is confirmed.
An Indian passport needs no visa for India. Other passports need the e-Visa category that matches their nationality, listed on the official portal. Check your iqama and exit and re-entry permission before booking.
The fee is ₹10,000 per person. Ask our team how to pay from Saudi Arabia before you transfer, and keep the receipt for your company's records.
List the supervisors, foremen and facilities staff who would lead a first response, by site and shift.
Basic Fire Fighting pairs well with Fire Extinguisher, Fire Warden or First Aid. Ask which combinations fit a current batch.
Write to info@imostacademy.in or message +91 8075 787307 with headcount and your window. Batches run regularly, so ask for current dates.
Take the direct RUH to COK flight and rest near the campus. Kochi's clock is 2 h 30 min ahead.
Theory, demonstrations and hands-on practice, then the written test, practical demonstration and oral questions.
File the certificates with your site's training records and plan who covers each shift next.
